Management of pain in a fragile patient: case report
The “fragile patients” are typically characterized by comorbidity and multitherapies that affect adversely the quality of life and adherence to treatment, also increasing the risk of adverse reactions and interactions, as well social and health costs. This “frailty” requires a rigorous approach to personalized pain therapy, since potential drug interactions and side effects of chronic therapy and analgesics must be considered. This case report highlights the achievement of pain relief, specific for the patient, by considering the pathogenetic mechanisms and limits of the side effects of drugs.
