Dr. Varrassi was a full professor of anesthesiology and pain medicine at the L’Aquila University, Italy. He is a founding member and past-president of the European Pain Federation (EFIC®) and of the European League Against Pain (EuLAP®). He is current President of the Paolo Procacci Foundation, Roma, Italy. He has authored hundreds peer-reviewed academic publications, contributed to dozens of medical books, is Editor-in-Chief of two leading scientific journals, and has been an invited speaker at over 500 medical conferences worldwide.
